The Sannur Valley Cave consists of several quarries. Some of them have been are so old, that they have been used since the time of the pharaohs, while some are newer and more modern.

Currently, there are 54 cavities leading to caves deep in the Earth. These cavities are used for digging alabaster, a mineral that has been historically used in vases, jars, and statues, since Pharaonic times.

The Sannur Valley Cave has many geological formations inside, and covers an area of 700 m (2,300 ft), with a width of 15 m (50 ft) and a depth of 15 m (50 ft) as well.
